這首 Angel of the Morning 的作者 Chip Taylor 原本是要給資深天后 Connie Francis唱的，但是她認為歌詞內容過於淫穢而拒絕 (60年代社會風氣保守，而歌的內容有關於婚前性行為) ，接著到了 Evie Sands 手上，她在1967年錄製好歌並發行兩星期後，Cameo/Parkway 唱片公司卻不幸破產倒閉，導致後續宣傳和發行計畫完全停擺，幾個月後，有人向製作人 Chips Moman 大力推薦這首歌，才由 Merrilee Rush 正式錄製並在隔年發行，當時登上 Billboard 排行榜第7名。後來有很多巨星陸續翻唱，但版主最喜歡的還是4座葛萊美獎得主鄉村民謠天后Juice Newton的版本。(以上資料來自奇摩知識阿草)
