"Babe"原本是 Styx合唱團的靈魂人物 Dennis De Young寫給老婆，表達相思之情的情歌。

因為工作的關係，Dennis De Young與結褵十五年的 Suzanne妻子聚少離多，因此希望把這首歌當作生日禮物送給她。但是當 Suzanne聽到這首歌時，立刻說服 Dennis De Young與樂團灌錄這首歌，並發行單曲。

對於才進入前衛搖滾主流的 Styx合唱團來說，突然改變風格去錄一首慢板情歌，的確是相當大的風險，不過他們還是這麼做了。結果證明 Suzanne的眼光沒有錯，"Babe"成了該團的第一首冠軍曲。

丹尼斯狄揚，為美國老牌搖滾團體－冥河合唱團（Styx）的靈魂人物。８０年代中期離團單飛，反而不如從前耀眼，"Desert Moon"是他第一張個人專輯的標題曲，也是他單飛後排行成績最好的作品，另一首為人熟知的抒情歌曲，則是他第二張專輯中的"Call me"。

從歌詞中可以看出來，「沙漠之月」指的是一個地方的名字。
