放眼當今歌壇，能兼具才華、美貌、聰穎與性感於一身的藝人如鳳毛麟角，Alicia Keys從廿出頭就以第一張個人專輯《未成年之歌Songs in A Minor》搬走五座葛萊美大獎的創作歌手，就是這麼一位難能可貴的藝人。一出道就獲得排山倒海而來的肯定，讓Alicia籌製第二張專輯時，或多或少也感受到某種程度的壓力。許多以首張專輯就技驚四座的歌手往往將第二張專輯視為一道艱辛的關卡，擔心要是第二張沒有第一張來得受歡迎，恐怕會被貼上一片歌手的標籤。還好Alicia的這張《琴韻心聲The Diary of Alicia Keys》延續了以往的亮眼成績，不但發行首週就空降全美專輯榜冠軍，而且發行不到半年，全美銷售量就已突破三白金標準，所獲好評更是不在話下，不但獲得Q雜誌四顆星、音樂權威網站AMG四顆星、Dot Music九分的超高評價，時人雜誌People更是以滿分肯定這張專輯的藝術與商業價值，而洛杉磯時報也將《琴韻心聲》選為2003年度十大專輯之一。此外，專輯中的單曲「陌生人You Don’t Know My Name」發行後也迅速登上全美單曲榜季軍，並榮獲多週R&B榜冠軍，而在本文版主唯一介紹的這首「If I Ain’t Got You」也有2004全美告示牌單曲榜第四、R&B榜冠軍的佳績。(以上資料來自博客來音樂館)
