成軍於1968年美國伊利諾州香檳市的流行搖滾團體REO Speedwagon,在搖滾樂盛行的80年代與Journey、Synx並稱搖滾三大團。「REO快速馬車」被視為80年代最成功的「劇場搖滾」團體之一，他們成名的過程卻相當艱苦，同時在音樂風格上也曾歷經多次的轉變。該團最早成立於1968年，當時只有兩名伊利諾大學的學生。他們的團名構想，來自一位原住民的汽車製造者歐茲（Ransom Eli Olds）在1911年設計的一輛消防車，所以「REO」就是歐茲姓名的縮寫。1980年推出了「Hi-Infidelity」專輯，以「Keep On Loving You」奪下全美冠軍而造成轟動；1985年以「Can’t Fight This Feeling」登上冠軍寶座、蟬聯三個星期，成了「REO」第二首冠軍單曲。(資料來自博客來網路書店)
